What are Chapters?
Chapters are local or regional groups affiliated with the Michigan Association for Gifted Children. Chapters can be associated with a school building, a school district, a city, or a larger geographic area. The Chapter works to determine the needs of its members; the Michigan Association for Gifted Children helps the Chapter meet those needs – be they in advocacy, information, or events.
MAGC’s current chapters include:

How do we form a Chapter?
Begin by contacting your Regional Liaison (see our liaisons list) or the president-elect: elect@migiftedchild.org regarding your thoughts or plans for forming a Chapter. Chapter leaders should review the Procedures for Affiliation and Renewal.
Once you’ve made the decision to organize formally, complete the required three forms online and send any required fees as indicated on the form.
(1) Agreement to Become and Affiliated Chapter
(2) Annual Chapter Financial Statement
(3) Annual Agreement for Affiliate Chapters
Renewing Chapters
Each June, current chapters need to renew their affiliation with the Michigan Association for Gifted Children as part of our agreement with the federal government. The two annual forms (Financial Statement and Annual Agreement) are required for us to have on hand to complete the MAGC report to the IRS and should be submitted online. Please refer back to the Procedures for Affiliation and Renewal for additional details.
